Now, Dyson revealed that it’s been working on robotics for a while
Dyson entering into the robotics industry isn’t quite far-fetched. The company makes robotic vacuum cleaners that use some level of AI to know their surroundings. That’s the sort of intelligence that’s really hard to accomplish on several levels. However, Dyson has been looking to push that just a step further and create robotics that can help people in more ways. Jake Dyson said in the videos that the company has been sponsoring London’s Imperial College to help its research into robotics. The company has been doing this for the past 10 years. While this is true, it’s been keeping all of this under wraps. Instead of just cleaning the floor, Dyson’s robotics aims to help people with other household tasks. In the video, we see different test robots that focus on different tasks. One robot has an arm that can pick up and release items. We see another robot that can map out the structure of an object in 3D to identify it.
Don’t expect a Dyson robot on shelves soon
During the video, Jake Dyson introduced us to some of the tests and research that the company is doing. However, he didn’t hint at any consumer devices. So far, it seems that the company is still developing the core technology before trying to get any products on the shelves.
