The company also announced the X70 and X70 Pro, which we’ll also touch upon. The Vivo X70 Pro+ is definitely the most powerful handset that got announced, and the one that stole the spotlight.
The Vivo X70 Pro+ comes in both glass & Vegan Leather variants
The phone comes in both glass and Vegan Leather finish. The black model has a glass backplate, while the Orange and Blue variants come with a Vegan Leather backplate.
As you can see, the design does somewhat resemble the X60 Pro+, though the entire camera island is quite the size now. The phone has very thin bezels, and a curved display. A display camera hole is placed at the top of the display, and centered. The device features a 6.78-inch QHD+ (3200 x 1440) E5 AMOLED display with HDR10+ support. This is a 10-bit display, it does offer a 120Hz refresh rate, and it’s an LTPO panel.
The Snapdragon 888+ fuels the device, and Vivo included plenty of RAM
The Snapdragon 888+ fuels this smartphone, while the company announced both 8GB and 12GB RAM (LPDDR5) variants. Both variants come with 256GB of internal storage (UFS 3.1). Android 11 comes pre-installed on the device, and OriginOS is expected to come on top of it, at least we believe it is. Vivo did not clarify whether Funtouch will come pre-installed, or OriginOS. In China, it’s OriginOS for sure, but we’re not sure if Vivo switched the global variant to the new UI or not.
There are five cameras included here overall, along with ZEISS optics
The phone has four cameras on the back, and one on the front. A 50-megapixel main camera (Samsung’s GN1 sensor, f/1.57 aperture, gimbal OIS) is backed by a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera (Sony IMX598 sensor, 4-axis OIS Gimbal stabilization). A 12-megapixel portrait camera (f/1.6 aperture) is also a part of the package, and so is an 8-megapixel periscope unit (OIS, 5x optical zoom, 60x super zoom, laser autofocus).
The company once again partnered with ZEISS, and ZEISS T* coating is applied here. On top of everything, the V1 chip for image processing is included here, Vivo’s very own chip. A 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.45) is included too. The phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it has two SIM card slots. Bluetooth 5.2 is also a part of the package, as are dual stereo speakers (CS43131 AMP). Under the display, you’ll also find an optical fingerprint scanner.
The Vivo X70 Pro+ supports 55W wired charging and 50W wireless charging
A 4,500mAh battery is a part of the package, while it supports 55W fast wired charging, and 50W wireless charging. On top of that, 10W reverse wireless charging is also supported. Its price tag will be market-dependent, but in China it starts at CNY5,499 ($851).
Vivo X70 & X70 Pro are a level below the flagship model, but still very powerful
The Vivo X70 and X70 Pro have somewhat different specs. Both devices are equipped with a 6.56-inch fullHD+ (2376 x 1080) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Vivo X70 is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, while the Exynos 1080 fuels the X70 Pro variant. Both devices come with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, in several different storage options. LPDDR4X RAM is included here, along with UFS 3.1 storage. Android 11 comes pre-installed, while two SIM card slots are included here as well. Bluetooth 5.1 support is also here, while they feature the same under-display fingerprint scanner as the flagship model.
Both devices support 44W fast wired charging
The Vivo X70 has a 4,400mAh battery, while the X70 Pro includes a 4,450mAh unit. Both support 44W fast wired charging, wireless charging is not supported here. The Vivo X70 features 40-megapixel main camera (f/1.89 aperture, OIS, ZEISS T* coating), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera (f/2.2 aperture, OIS), and a 12-megapixel portrait camera (Sony IMX663 sensor, f/1.98 aperture, laser autofocus).
The X70 Pro has a periscope camera, while the X70 does not
The X70 Pro, on the other hand, features a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony IMX766V sensor, OIS, ZEISS optics, f/1.75 aperture, V1 chip), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera (116-degree FoV, f/2.2 aperture, OIS), a 12-megapixel portrait camera (Sony IMX663, f/1.98 aperture), and an 8-megapixel periscope unit (5x periscope, f/3.4 aperture, laser autofocus).
A 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.45) is included on the front. The X70 Pro also includes the CS43131 AMP. The Vivo X70 measures 160.10 x 75.39 x 7.55mm, while it weighs 181 grams. The X70 Pro measures 158.30 x 73.21 x 7.99mm, and weighs 185 grams. The pricing for the X70 starts at CNY3,699 ($570) in China, while the X70 Pro pricing starts at CNY4,299 ($665). We still don’t know what the pricing will be for the global unit, but it will vary from one market to the next. Vivo said that the X70 series will be launched in various countries, including Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, UAE, and more. It will spread across the world gradually.
