This is mostly about puns, since the campaign is called “Original Chips”, and is based entirely on potato chips. I guess there’s no chip shortage for Google? With the campaign, Google details the new Tensor chipset that is inside the Pixel 6. Stating that it is a “genuine chip manufactured entirely in-house for the new Google Pixel 6. Flying chips that let you enjoy its charm quickly. Made by 100% Google, it has a crispy finish. You should definitely enjoy the deliciousness of freshly made Hokuhoku.”

These chips are real

These chips weren’t just made for the video (which you can see below). The chips are actually real, and those in Japan can actually claim them if they want to do so. Which is really cool. This is a really interesting way for Google to market the fact that its Pixel 6 will have an in-house chip. And it makes it an easier way to explain it to the average consumer that may not know much about what chip is inside and running their smartphone. Our only complaint here is that it is not available outside of Japan. The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are set to be announced in October, and be available by the end of October. Both of these phones are set to be the biggest updates to the Pixel line ever. With their biggest displays ever, and the most premium build ever. It’s also the first ones to feature Google’s own chipset inside. Which is being called “Tensor”. That’s named after the chipsets that Google uses for its servers – which it also designs. We’re still about a month out from the Pixel 6 announcement, but it can’t come soon enough.
