The Pixel Watch pricing just surfaced, revealing that the watch won’t be cheap
First and foremost, it’s worth noting that the watch is coming in both Wi-Fi only and LTE models. That’s something Google announced at Google I/O back in May. Now, based on the info from “a source familiar with the matter”, the LTE variant of the watch will cost $399. This will be its price tag in the US, of course. 9to5Google does notes that this pricing may change before launch, though. It also notes that carrier deals will bring the price down. What’s the competition priced like? Well, $399 is actually the price of the cheapest Apple Watch Series 7, the Wi-Fi only model. So, the Pixel Watch will, at least, be cheaper than Apple’s offering.
How does it compare to Samsung’s offerings?
The Galaxy Watch 5 is priced at $279, while the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro costs $449 (Wi-Fi only models). Those two watches with LTE cost $329 and $449, while the Apple Watch Series 7 LTE variant is priced at $499. So, it seems like the LTE variant of the Pixel Watch will be more affordable than the equivalents from Apple and Samsung (at least the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro), though not by a whole lot. It remains to be seen if this pricing will be accurate, though. The pricing may change considerably prior to launch, so take this information with a grain of salt. When is the Pixel Watch coming? Well, as many of you assumed, it will launch alongside its smartphone siblings. The Pixel Watch is coming in October alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Those two devices are tipped to launch on October 6, though Google still didn’t confirm anything. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to be sure.
