The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 to include an 8-inch LTPO display
He said that the device will feature an 8-inch LTPO display, with a 2.5K resolution. So, that display will be quite large, and it will almost certainly be an AMOLED panel. We’re also expecting it to offer a 120Hz refresh rate, though that hasn’t been mentioned. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is tipped to fuel the device, unsurprisingly. That is Qualcomm’s most powerful processor at the moment, and many flagship devices in 2022 will utilize it. The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro do as well. That is pretty much all the information regarding the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 that the source shared. You’ll notice that the ‘Mi’ part is no longer included in the name of the phone. Its predecessor was called the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold. Xiaomi decided to ditch the ‘Mi’ branding last year, and its new devices will not feature it. The name sure is clearer this way, and it makes more sense. The ‘Mi’ branding was symbolizing ‘Xiaomi’ either way, so… it’s redundant.
This foldable smartphone is expected to launch in March
In any case, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 could arrive at the end of Q1 this year. The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold launched in March last year, so if Xiaomi aims to stick to that release cycle, its successor is coming in a couple of months. The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold didn’t launch outside of China, though, and we’re hoping that won’t be the case with its successor. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will hopefully arrive to other markets, to global markets, that is. In addition to what the tipster mentioned, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will also ship with Android 12, and Xiaomi’s MIUI skin. It will offer a large battery, along with fast charging, and plenty of RAM and storage.
