You can delete a YouTube playlist from both the YouTube app, and from a web browser on your desktop PC. Considering that’s the case, we’ll show you how to do it from both sides. We’ll kick things off with the mobile app, and will then do a separate tutorial for the desktop web browser. You’ll find step-by-step guides below, along with screenshots to guide you along the way.
How to delete a YouTube playlist using an official app
If you’d like to delete a YouTube playlist from your phone, the first thing you’ll need to do is launch the official YouTube app. Once you’ve done that, tap the ‘Library’ option in the bottom-right corner.
Once the ‘Library’ menu opens, you’ll need to scroll down a bit to see your playlists. They’re located under the ‘Playlists’ section. Choose which playlist you’d like to delete, and tap on it.
That playlist will open, and once you make sure that is, indeed, the playlist you’d like to get rid of, tap the three dots as shown in the image below. The ones that are located next to the magnifier icon.
A small pop-up menu will appear, and you’ll see the ‘Delete playlist’ option.
If you choose it, another pop-up menu will appear, asking you to confirm your selection. If you’d like to do that, tap the ‘Delete’ option.
How to delete a YouTube playlist using a web browser
The procedure to do this is a bit different via a web browser. Open youtube.com, and make sure you’re logged in. On your homepage, you’ll see the ‘Library’ option in the main menu on the left side. Click it.
Your playlists will open in the next menu, alongside a ton of other content. Under the ‘Playlists’ section, you’ll see all of your playlists. Once you choose which one you’d like to delete, click the ‘View Full Playlist’ option.
Once that playlist opens, you’ll see the three dots icon. This time around those dots are horizontally aligned, not vertically. Click that icon.
A pop-up menu will appear, and the least option in it will be the ‘Delete playlist’ one.
Another pop-up menu will appear if you choose to delete your playlist. You’ll need to confirm your selection by clicking the ‘Delete’ option.
