Thanks to the folks at MySmartPrice (via Phone Arena), we have our first look at the benchmark scores of the OPPO Pad. In customary fashion, the revelation comes via benchmarking database Geekbench. The tablet listed on the site bears the model number OPD2101. Screenshots reveal that the device secured 4,582 points on the single-core test and 12,259 on the multi-core test. The benchmark info also confirms the presence of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 chipset with the codename ‘kona,’ accompanied by the Adreno 650 GPU. Launched around a year ago, the Snapdragon 870 SoC utilizes the 7nm manufacturing process, so it’s not comparable to Qualcomm’s recent offerings. The chipset on the OPPO Pad is seemingly running at up to 3.19 GHz, so it’s not going to be underpowered by any measure. Notably, the Snapdragon 870 chip is also used on the Xiaomi Pad 5.
The OPPO Pad could likely be limited to Asian markets
The Geekbench listing also reveals at least 6GB of RAM, though OPPO may offer other RAM configurations. Disappointingly, Android 11 is the software of choice here. But it would be surprising if the company didn’t release the OPPO Pad with Android 12 (ColorOS 12). Based on older leaks, the OPPO Pad would feature an LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. There will also be a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. While it’s always tricky to speculate on the pricing of an unreleased device, reports say the OPPO Pad could cost 2,000 CNY ($315) when it breaks cover in China. Launch-related details are also scarce, though the tablet will likely launch by the first half of 2022. All signs point towards the OPPO Pad being limited to regions like China and India. So don’t get your hopes up to see this outside Asia, not officially anyway. Last month, OPPO took the wraps off the Find N, its first foldable display phone. The design of the smartphone is pretty impressive, especially compared to the existing lot of foldables, mainly from Samsung. But as is the case with most OPPO devices, it won’t see a broader global launch.
